Seller Insight

I moved here when the children were getting older, we really needed bigger bedrooms and more living space. This house ticked the boxes and with the wonderful high ceilings and big windows it feels even bigger than it is.

I’ve been here 16 years now and I love everything about the house. Every room feels comfortable for me and I have the space to do everything I want. I love to entertain and it works really well here with guests wandering between the kitchen, garden and living room. I get the sun in the evening in the garden so it’s great for summer dinner parties.

The family room is a quiet corner of the house we’ve all valued over the years. I’m an avid reader and it’s the perfect spot to read and relax. We have an unwritten rule that if the door’s shut, someone is using it so leave them be!

My bedroom is a lovely piece of home for me, it gets plenty of sun and with the walk-in wardrobe and en-suite it’s perfect as an escape and for lazy mornings in bed.

This area has a whole variety of restaurants, one of my favourites is Two Spoons where I regularly meet friends for brunch. The Foresters pub is next to Velmead common, perfect for a walk then a pub lunch. Velmead common is incredibly well used with walkers, cyclists and children playing, it’s very safe there. Tweseldown Racecourse is also very good for walks, I feel very safe and connected to the community on my jaunts!

There are plenty of independent retailers in Fleet, it’s a vibrant high street. For a bigger shop I go to Guildford, Basingstoke or Reading.

It’s very easy to get around from here. I can walk to the shop in 3 minutes, 4 pubs are within a 15 minute walk and Fleet town centre is just over a mile away. Over the years I’ve worked in London and Reading which are an easy commute by car or train, the airports are a quick journey too.

I’m retired now and don’t need all this space so it’s time to downsize and let another family enjoy the house which I know they will, it’s been a wonderful home for my family.
