Windsor Great Park is nearby, the 4500 acre park stretching to Windsor Castle. Within the park you’ll find Savill Garden, Virginia Water Lake and on the far side, The Long Walk. Windsor Great Park is ideal for beautiful English countryside walks, whatever the season.

Seller Insight

We fell in love with the apartment and the estate equally, there’s nowhere else like this.

The apartment really has the wow factor, from the lovely open hallway to the sparkling staircase and big living room. The double height creates a wide, open space and the mezzanine study area feels so spacious with lovely views.

We entertain a lot so the ground floor is ideal, it feels like one vast entertaining space. The guest rooms are all good sizes with their own bathrooms, perfect for overnight guests.

The two balconies were important to us, the south facing view over the grounds is wonderful. The trees block the glare leaving us with dappled sunlight all day. There’s a magic to the grounds here, the architecture and setting are so beautiful, it’s like living in a bubble. Most mornings we walk the one mile perimeter and take in the history of the estate. The Mansion was designed and built by a genius at a time when nothing else existed like that, it still doesn’t really. When you think of who has looked at the grounds including Winston Churchill and Prince Edward, you’re a part of that and it feels like a privilege.

Outside of the estate we have everything on our doorstep; there are some great restaurants nearby and magical little shops in Sunningdale, we don’t have to travel far for what we need. We spend quite a bit of time abroad and this is the ideal ‘lock-up and leave’. Heathrow, Gatwick and Farnborough airports are all fairly close by. We also travel into London regularly either by train or by car arranged by the estate. The staff here are wonderful, everything is taken care of for us.

We were big advocates of adding the pavilion in the grounds, it’s well used for private and estate events. It feels like an extension to our property for entertainment and ideal for when our children and grandchildren visit.

We have a wonderful sense of security and privacy here which in turn gives us a sense of freedom. We’ll really miss the lifestyle here, it’s quite special.
