What a year! Having been through so many ups and downs over the last 21 months one thing has remained steadfast and that’s the property market.
While price rises slowed in the 2nd half of the year, they did continue to rise. Demand is higher than supply so we’re lining up for a busy spring market.
Buyers include those who wanted to move in 2021 but, having missed out on several houses to multiple bids decided to wait until 2022. Covid continues to have a significant impact on our way of life with working from home back on the table and restricted social activities. This is once again driving homeowners to look to a house with more space inside and out, with no need to be near the office.
Multi-generational living is still much popular than ever before plus we’re seeing downsizers looking to move closer to their children and grandchildren, capitalising on the strong market for larger homes.
Of course we also still have the usual sources of demand; marriage, divorce, death, job relocation.
The spring market starts on Boxing Day – one of the busiest days of the year for property searches. At Kai Carter Estates we launched 3 houses on Boxing Day and had 4 viewings booked by the end of the day.
If you’re looking to move I’d recommend getting on the market as soon as possible. Your garden may not look its prettiest but buyers don’t care, theirs looks the same!
